St. John Yacht Charters Crew Bio

Hello, My name is Jason Carter. Captain of
the 46' ft. Sloop Survivan. Growing up in Texas, and
spending my childhood summers hiking and climbing all over Colorado, I
acquired a natural love for the outdoors.
I went to school for Anthropology at Texas A&M University and then
spent time in Alaska working as a mountaineering guide. I spent my
winters managing a snowboard shop in Breckenridge Colorado and when
summer rolled around I was back up in Alaska stomping though the
majestic mountains. I had a chance to travel to Thailand in the winter
of 2000. The tropical weather and the ocean were supporting the
idea of change, and getting out of endless winters spent in Alaska and
Colorado. Growing up around lakes in Texas, and learning how to sail at
an early age, I made a choice after Thailand to move here, St. John,
U.S. Virgin Islands. Consequently, I have lived on the water ever
since. Sailing as well as working as a Kayak and snorkeling guide
all around the area,
plus years of other St. John experiences, have given me a great
understanding of our surrounding waters. As well as superb knowledge of
where to find the
best snorkel spots around.

Ahoy! My name is Larita. Some call me “Lou”. I moved here to this beautiful island of St. John about three years ago. And on a whim, have embraced sailing as if it were air. Having several thousand miles of off-shore sailing and learning, I have truly found my heart’s desire. Being born in New Mexico and raised between there and northern Utah, I was working as a hunting guide on the western slope of Colorado when I decided on a change of pace. Come sailing and snorkeling! Jason and I know the best spots and are always accommodating. We would love to have you along. |
